The theme for 2012 is based
around Lady Godiva and the many good things she stood for.
Working in one of the most
socially mixed communities in Coventry we are picking up on
one thing we all have in common = the love of Music
During the week before the
event we hope to be able to fund workshops for children [with
parents/ guardians helping] to make and play their very own
musical instruments at the event.
Members of the St John the
Divine church have kindly committed to putting on their version
of the ancient 'Mystery Plays', [which having watched this some
years ago and still remember laughing until my sides hurt is NOT
to be missed], which will be the centre piece.
Around this we wish to build a
display of dancing and music from around the world such as;
Morrismen, Indian Bangla dancing, Irish dancers, Scots dancers,
African dancers/drummers, and any others willing to show their
counties music/dance.
What do we need?
Contacts with any group /
person who can help with the music workshops, ideally making
these instruments from recycled materials
Contacts with music / dance
groups who can make a commitment for just an hour on Sat 20th
April 2012.
