Extracts from James Wyatt's Will
Deceased. 28th December 1811

James Wyatt of WINNALL, otherwise Willenhall, of Willenhall House, and his wife Isabella.

James left, £200 [paid on his death], his Carriage & Carriage horses and harness's, Live and dead stock on the farm, all his wines and other liquors, household goods and furniture, plate, linen, china, glass, books & pictures. He gave the poor of hamlet of Willenhall the sum of £40 and £20 to be spent on clothes for the same.

His personal servants were left any goods, as seen fit by his wife. James owned five messuages or tenements in Coventry, occupied by Mr Humle, Bray, Bayliss & Hanson, which he left to his brother in law Thomas Morris, along with £270 from bonds of John Burden of Bailey Lane Coventry. Land in Willenhall and Baginton, was divided between the following; Thomas Goode of Holborn Bridge, London; James Beck, Banker of Coventry; John Alfred Wigan of Highbury Terrace, Islington, Middlesex; Sister, Ann Beck the wife of William Beck, Sister Hannah, the wife of Thomas Morris. His nephews and nieces were given £20,000, to be divided amongst then and invested, paid on either marriage or reaching the age of 21. Mary Beck, his niece, was also given one share in the Coventry Canal Navigation Company John Alfred, Jane and Edward Wigan, children of Edward Wigan were given one share each in the Coventry Canal Navigation Company Horatio Good, son of Samuel Good Alderman of London, two shares in the Coventry Canal Navigation Company. James Bult [Partner of Samuel Good] all other shares in the Coventry Canal Navigation Company. Samuel Brockhurst [of Coventry] cousin, the sum of £100, one month after his death, and a yearly sum of £60, to be paid at £5 per month, on his death his wife to receive £20 per year. Samuel's children also received £100 each at aged 21 or marriage. James Beck and John Alfred Wigan received a sum of £200 each. Mary Mills. [Spinster] of Coventry, £50. Joseph Troughton Esq. And Mary Hodges [spinster], both neighbours of James Wyatt, received £20, and every tenant living in Winnal and Foleshill received £20 each. Tenant Thomas Perks children all received £10 each. Thomas Goode, James Beck and John Alfred Wigan where appointed Executors of his will. Witnessed on the 28th December 1811, by; John Barker, 7 Serjeants Inn, Fleet St, Edmund Peter [same place] Mathew Brett Miller [same place].

DOMESTIC OFFICES; Kitchen with dresser and range, sink [H & C] Butler's Pantry with sink [H & C] and fitted cupboards, Servants Hall, Pantry, Washhouse with Copper and sink [H & C], Dairy, two Pantries, Cellar. Gas & Water laid on.

Carefully maintained Tennis and Croquet Lawn, shady Lawns, Large Kitchen Garden well stoked with fruit trees, Orchard, Tomato House, Vinery and lean-to Green house heated, Potting Shed and Stkehole, Poultry House, Fuel House.

Situated near the house, Two Stall Stable and two Loose Boxes with Loft over and hay shoot, Harness Room, Meal House with Loft over, Coachhouse or Garage.
