Building of the A46 Bye-pass
The A45 Coventry bye-pass has served Coventry since before WW2, the building of the M1, then the M69 and A46 bye-pass's caused a huge amount of traffic to cut though Coventry heading across the city between the motorways. So at long last the planners put together a plan to build a bye-pass between the island at the bottom of the London Road and Coventry Airport. The one thing they totally forgot about was the volume of traffic which would be using it!. Toll Bar End / Baginton or locally known as Murder / Kamikaze Island for years [and still is] one of the busiest  junctions for miles. It took until 2007 before plans were made public that at long last they would be building a underpass to take the though traffic. We are looking forward to the completion but the the closing of roads during the work!
