Willenhall Brick and Tile Works
Records show us that the brickworks started around 1826, as the Assignment of Mortgage of Joseph Merry; Further Close (5a. 3r. 34p.; lately occupied by Edward Smith but then by Thomas Howard), (b) Corn Close (8a. 2r. 27p.), (c) Dead Man's Piece (9a. 3r. 17p., fronting the Coventry-London turnpike), (d) Dover's Hill (9a. 1r. 7p. behind (c)) and (e) Spring Close (6a. 2r. 10p.) - (b)-(e) had been successively farmed by John Hodgetts, Francis Perkins and Henry Barrs (excepting part of (c) used as a brickyard);
Later a  Voucher for James] Lloyd] Akroyd (for soughing-tiles from Willenhall Brick Yard). 13 Feb 1849
The 1884 Kelly's Directory shows; Thomas & Henry Mayo, Brick & Terracotta Company

1886 plans were made to expand the site; Rough plans, estimates, bills etc. for work  headed: "Willenhall brick and tile works, Thomas & Henry Mayo", and Thomas Mayo, builder, Much Park Street, Coventry"

The 1945 Electoral Records show that the site was covered with caravans, these being used due to the housing shortage after WW2
